Allergies - is an acute reaction of the body's immune system to normally harmless substances. Allergy symptoms can occur in different parts of the body, observed from a few minutes to a few days and be very different in severity.

Allergies may occur on wool some species, various foods, dust, drugs, chemicals, insect bites and pollen. Substances that cause allergies are called allergens. In some cases, allergic reactions are so weak that you can not even be aware that generally suffer from allergies.

But allergies can be, on the contrary, it is extremely dangerous and even life threatening. People suffering from allergies, there may be anaphylactic shock, a severe pathological condition associated with extremely severe reaction to an allergen. Anaphylaxis can be caused by various allergens: drugs, insect bites, food. Also, anaphylactic shock can occur due to contact of the skin with an allergen, e.g., latex.

A food allergy is an immune reaction caused by certain foods and accompanied by well-known symptoms. A food allergy occurs when the body mistakes a certain product for a threat to the body's self-defense forces and for the immune system to produce antibodies. Repeated dose allergen the immune system already recognizes this substance quickly and immediately reacts by producing antibodies again. These substances and cause allergic symptoms. Allergic rhinitis (experts call this state of rhinitis) or hay fever, occurs in 1 out of 10 and is often hereditary. People with other allergic diseases, such as asthma or eczema also often suffer from allergic rhinitis. Such allergies are more common in women than in men. In allergic rhinitis can occur following symptoms: itchy eyes, throat, nose and on the palate, sneezing, and stuffy nose, watery eyes, mucous discharge from the nose, conjunctivitis (redness and pain in the eyes). In severe cases of allergic rhinitis can trigger an asthma attack (in people suffering from asthma) and/or eczema.

Causes of allergies:- In some people, the immune system reacts badly to certain substances (allergens), producing a variety of chemical substances. One of them, histamine, causing allergic symptoms. The reaction may occur organism by inhalation, skin contact, administration of allergen or receiving it in the food. Allergens can be animal hair, fluff, dust, foods, cosmetics, drugs, pollen, cigarette smoke.

Allergy symptoms:- An allergic reaction can occur in different parts of the body, and the symptoms can be observed from several minutes to several days. 
  • upper respiratory tract: hay fever, asthma; 
  • bloodshot, watery eyes; 
  • pain and inflammation of the joints; 
  • hives, eczema; 
  • diarrhea, vomiting, stomach upset.
Complications :-
  • anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction); 
  • shortness of breath and wheezing; 
  • rapid pulse; 
  • cold sweat; 
  • clammy skin; 
  • urticaria; 
  • stomach cramps; 
  • dizziness; 
  • nausea; 
  • collapse (acute circulatory insufficiency); 
  • convulsions.
In the absence of medical care, severe allergy can be fatal.

What you can do :- ones- Mild allergic reactions can cause a runny nose, watery eyes, and other symptoms that resemble the common cold. You may also see a small rash. If you frequently noted in yourself or your loone'ssuch reactions, you should contact your doctor.

Remember that in the event of anaphylactic shock allergy affects the whole body. Anaphylaxis can occur within 15 minutes after ingestion of the allergen, so it is necessary to take urgent measures (should call an ambulance). 

Avoid food, drugs and other substances, for which you have ever had an allergy.

About your allergies should be known to your friends, family and colleagues. Always give all physicians (including dentists, beauticians, etc.) about all your allergies, especially to medications. This applies to both drugs on prescription and OTC. Before taking any medication, carefully read the packaging and instructions.

In milder forms of allergic rhinitis, use decongestant drops or sprays to relieve symptoms. If the allergy is caused by the drug, immediately discontinue its use and consult a physician.

Take antihistamines (allergy agent), prescribed by the doctor. When receiving antihistamines have a sedative effect, avoid driving and control mechanisms, as they may cause drowsiness. Today, however, there are a number of antihistamines, non-sedating. In allergic reactions on the skin to relieve irritation, use in places eruptions antipruritic cream or lotion.

The doctor must rule out other diseases, as well as to conduct tests to identify the allergen and prescribe antihistamines and, if necessary, steroids. If the allergen is identified, but the contact with them is inevitable, the physician should introduce a special vaccine for the prevention and treatment of allergies.

Also, your doctor may recommend a special diet for patients suffering from food allergies.

Preventive measures for allergies :- Try to identify the substances that cause your allergies, and always avoid them. Take care that your house was clean and free of dust, lint, and mites. When you sweep or vacuum cleaner, you knock the dust from furniture, changing bedding and any other contacts with dusty objects blocking nose (use gauze or mask). Allergies to pets do not keep them in your house.

If you have allergies to medicines, always carry a special card, on which is written on what exactly you are allergic drugs. In this case, even if you are unconscious or can not remember the name of the drug, you will be insured by the administration of allergen. If you have severe allergies, notify about your family and colleagues and do not forget to inform your doctor.
